…if him and Peter Jackson have anything to do with it anyway. Ian McKellen often answers questions sent in by fans on his website, and today was the day a new batch was presented. You can check them all out by clicking here. They are all Lord of the Rings related and you can find out about some cool things that…
Ian McKellen Will Be Back As Gandalf!
Is Thomas Sangster Tintin?
Andy Serkis said recently that he was off to New Zealand to start work on Steven Spielberg’s first Tintin movie. Serkis will be playing Captain Haddock in the trilogy, but we haven’t heard about any other actors being cast. With filming beginning soon, there is a good chance that they have got a cast together, or are in the process of getting people on…
Spielberg Now Directing First Tintin Movie! Serkis Confirmed As Captain Haddock!
It seems there has been quite a big a shake up on the upcoming Tintin trilogy. It was thought that Peter Jackson would be directing the first movie after he had finished work on The Lovely Bones, but it now appears that is not the case and Spielberg will be the man in the directors chair for the first outing. This could be due to a number…
New Lawsuit Could Put The Hobbit At Risk!
New Line have just solved one lawsuit with director Peter Jackson regarding the profits of The Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Rings, and now they are faced with another. Variety are reporting that the Tolkien estate, a British charity called The Tolkien Trust, and original Lord of the Rings publisher HarperCollins, are suing New Line, seeking more than $150 million in compensatory damages, unspecified punitive damages and a court order giving the Tolkien estate the right to terminate any rights New Line may have to make films based on other…
Movies We Can Now Look Forward To As The Writers Strike Draws To A Close!
Since the 5th November 2007 members of the Writers Guild of America have not written, typed, engraved or sprayed any words down on whatever they would normally write, type, engrave or spray on. People have lost jobs, sleep and most likely, weight, due to all the protesting instead of sat on their backends writing. But most importantly, production on some of the most anticipated movies ever have been halted.
In most cases the studios have done what they can under the circumstances, such as storyboarding, thinking and possibly scribbling down those thoughts down. But no script means no filming. So now that the writers could be back at work within days, what movies can we now look forward to?…
Andy Serkis Talks Tintin And The Hobbit
We saw the trailer for Serkis’s next film, The Cottage, a couple of days ago. The film is a small budget British horror/comedy, which is a lot different from what we have seen him in before. He brought Gollum to life in The Lord Of The Rings, and was the man behind King Kong. His next movie with Peter Jackson will be Tintin…
Has Guillermo Del Toro Got One Ring To Rule Them All?
Having had months of rather depressing news that The Hobbit would be made without Peter Jackson in sight, came the rather joyful news that Peter Jackson would actually be involved. But due to his commitments on Tin Tin and Lovely Bones, he could only serve as executive producer, with approval over creative elements of the films. There were also rumblings…
Elijah Wood talks The Hobbit
It was recently announced that Peter Jackson would have involvement in the next two Hobbit films, but only as a producer. So at least we have some of the creative team returning, and no doubt more will follow, but what about the cast? Having a different cast will not work. It wouldn’t feel the same, and it certainly wouldn’t look the same. Having the same cast that were in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy is a must. So what’s going on? Well, MTV got a chance to talk to Frodo
The Hobbit Is Happening
It’s official…Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema have settled all their differences, and The Hobbit is a go.
Gollum Joins Tintin!
It is common for directors to stick with actors they know and work well with. There is Depp and Burton, Carter and Burton, Crowe and Scott, and now you can safely say there is Serkis and Jackson. Andy Serkis’s career was going steady until he landed the role of Gollum in The Lord Of The Rings. Everyone wanted to know who the man behind the CGI was, and that is when Serkis became well known. He then re-teamed with Jackson for King Kong, and landed a few other good roles in movies like The Prestige and Flushed Away. Now he
