During the months leading up to Terminator Salvation’s release director McG revealed that a scene involving a topless Moon Bloodgood in the rain had been filmed, but there was a chance it wouldn’t make the final cut as they wanted to keep a PG-13 rating. Bloodgood herself described the scene as “a beautiful shot” and under the circumstances her character was in it wasn’t gratuitous, saying “Did you ever just want to get naked and connect to someone? Imagine the world is coming to an end and you just want to connect with someone and you’re like, ‘I don’t care.’”

Well the scene didn’t make it into the film, but it will be on the DVD as a deleted scene. It can also be seen below:

McG revealed last year that there would be a scene in Terminator Salvation that involves Blair Williams, played by Moon Bloodgood, being topless in the rain. Recently at WonderCon ComingSoon got the chance to speak to the actress, and she said the scene had more of a deeper meaning, rather than simply doing it to show off some skin.

It’s not like we’re trying to be shallow, it’s like who cares? I fight so much against nudity, but I’m a woman, I have boobs, it’s a beautiful shot. It wasn’t at all gratuitous. I’m not afraid to say ‘no.’ I would have said, ‘No, I’m not doing it,’ and I’ve done that, but it was beautiful. Did you ever just want to get naked and connect to someone? Imagine the world is coming to an end and you just want to connect with someone and you’re like, ‘I don’t care.’”

But will the scene make it into the final cut? Terminator Salvation has a huge toy deal so will Warner Bros be aiming for a PG-13 rating in the US?

We never once gave a thought to rating. Do you think Christian would go in and go, ‘I need to tailor my performance to hit a rating.’ He didn’t want to do that, I didn’t want to do that. We would never do that. Now having said that, should the film be PG-13? ‘The Dark Knight’ is PG-13 and I would regard that as made without compromise.”

If McG is toying with the idea of a possible topless scene certainly that would be a part of the factor that goes into the rating though, right? “But it wasn’t a function of the rating. It was a function of whether it’s gratuitous or is it servicing the story? Sometimes, you want to say that the softness of the human flesh is one of the things we’re fighting for. It’s decidedly human and it’s not like the machines. Or does it just feel like a juvenile moment in an otherwise very serious film?” (McG also cited the beautiful scene of Kate Winslet’s Rose posing for Leo in the nude in James Cameron’s Titanic, which was in fact PG-13.)

If the scene does get removed I would prefer the reason being that it doesn’t fit with the flow of the story, rather than to get a lower rating for the McDonald’s tie in.

Screenweek got themselves four new images from Terminator Salvation which feature Common and Moon Bloodgood, two of which can be seen below.

Common (Wanted) plays Barnes, a Resistance soldier and one of John Connor’s closest friends.Moon Bloodgood plays Blair Williams, a pilot for the Resistance who has been described as “a no-nonsense and battle-hardened member of the resistance” suffering from survivor guilt. She took Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) to the Resistance base.

The wait is over and we now have a second trailer for Terminator Salvation. It didn’t get me as pumped as I hoped, but it is cool nonetheless. Lots of action, lots of explosion and most importantly, lots of Terminators! Watch it below!

It looks okay, nothing special. The best part is that Bruce Willis plays a fat, bearded version of himself.

Yet more Comic Con goodness has arrived online. This time we get to see director McG, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Moon Bloodgood, Bryce Dallas Howard and Common answer questions about the upcoming movie and their characters.

We also have a new poster with a rather mean looking Terminator who could probably do with a dentist.

The official Blog for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li has updated, revealing a first look at Moon Bloodgood As Det. Maya Sunee. The character probably won’t sound familiar to die-hard Street Fighter fans out there. And it shouldn’t. Maya’s new to the Street Fighter universe. She’s Bangkok Gangland Homicide. A no-nonsense, fast-talking, half-Thai cop who rocks a Ducati and a set of gold cuffs.

The blog also said that they are halfway through filming, and that the rains in Bangkok were causing a problem. I also hope Moon Bloodgood has finished filming, as she is expected to start on the upcoming Terminator film soon.

With recent casting news and confirmation that all is good with Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, we can now look forward to set pictures and reports, as filming is expected to begin within the next few weeks. Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin and Moon Bloodgood are all raring to go, but what does the original Terminator think about this? Will Arnie make an appearance?

“I’ve never had a dialogue with anyone about it. But if they shoot the movie in California, I would [be a part of it], yes.”

If nobody has spoke to him about it and filming is expected to begin soon, there is a good chance Schwarzenegger will not be in the movie. The film is expected to film in New Mexico at the beginning of May. Now, I’m not too good with places but I am pretty sure New Mexico is not California, which sucks. If Arnie were to make an appearance, even as a cameo, then it would be super cool. Maybe they will surprise us, who knows?

Moon Bloodgood is apparently in final talks to play ‘lead female’ in Terminator 4, according to THR. Moon Bloodgood (what a name) with play a ‘no-nonsense and battle-hardened member of the resistance who is carrying a lot of guilt over surviving the nuclear holocaust.’

I suppose that is some depth to the character…feeling guilty that you are actually alive! I am also betting that she will get penetrated by ‘lead male’ Christian Bale, either in T4 or at some point in the trilogy. Bloodgood has done some TV work and will also be seen in the upcoming Streetfighter movie.

This confirms that the rumours of production on the film being shut down, are indeed just rumours. THR also called the film Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, which suggests that the title being changed, are again, just rumours. It seems all is good in the hood for the Terminator gang.
