Just over a week ago we learned that a new trailer for Inception would be appearing in front of Avatar, and now MakingOf have debuted a French trailer for Christopher Nolan’s ‘wtf’ movie. While the English version has yet to be released, it’ll probably be similar to this one which features buildings being rolled up and a train thundering down a busy street.

Inception stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Tom Hardy and Michael Caine, and will be released next July.

Michael Caine has been in every movie Christopher Nolan has directed since 2005 (by ‘every movie’ I mean Batman Begins, The Prestige and The Dark Knight), so one would assume that he would turn up in Inception, which Nolan will start filming later this year. So far Leonardo DiCaprio, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard have all been announced, but what about Caine?

“I think there might be a part for me,” Caine told MTV News. Asked if he thought he would be cast in Nolan’s latest movie, described by Warner Bros. only as “a contemporary sci-fi thriller set within the architecture of the mind,” Caine gleamed with optimism.

“I could well be, yes,” the Academy Award-winning actor stated. “I don’t think [Nolan]’s going to make a picture without me.”

“I will know this week if I’m going to be in it,” Cain said.

Recently Michael Caine revealed that he hasn’t accepted a role since completing Harry Brown last year, and then he mentioned the word “retirement”. The thought of Michael Caine no longer appearing in movies is something I’d rather not think about, so Nolan better find a role for him in Inception!

We probably won’t be hearing anything exciting about Batman 3 for a while, considering director Christopher Nolan is busy. But that doesn’t stop the cast from commenting on it now and again. From Splashpage:

Michael Caine was asked if Christopher Nolan would return for a third “Batman” film. “I would imagine so,” he said, adding, “That would be probably The Riddler [as the villain].

“…if they do another one, I’ll probably be the butler,” he said. “I hope I’m still alive. Michael Goth, who played [Alfred in] Batman before me, the last time he played in Batman he was 84.

Caine then made a rather touching comment about retirement (he is 76):

You don’t know when your time is up so to speak. There just goes a period of time when the right scripts don’t arrive. And it hasn’t happened to me yet. It might have happened now. I finished this last picture, as I said. I don’t have another picture to do. If a script doesn’t come, then I won’t do anything and I’ll be retired. There won’t be any announcement or anything. I remember MacArthur saying “Old soldiers don’t die. They fade away.” Well, old actors don’t die. They fade away.

And without getting too sombre, Caine commented on Christian Bale’s outburst on the Terminator Salvation set:

I haven’t seen him since. No. When I speak to him, I’m going to say, “What the fuck are you doing?!”
