Unused Jumper Posters!

Jumper has been and gone. The teleportation movie staring Hayden Christensen and Samuel L Jackson has made over $170 worldwide, and there has been talk of a sequel, which is good news for those people who enjoyed the movie.

I am always interested in things that never happened, such as looking at concept art for scenes that would have been in movies. Well this time it is a little bit different, but still equally interesting. No Pattern have got some posters that would have been used for the marketing, if Fox didn’t decide otherwise. They are quite cool and different to most movie posters. Fox may have wanted to play it safe and release ‘normal yet good’ posters rather than these unique darlings!

Doug Liman Talks Jumper 2! Space And Time Travel?

Jumper has just made $38.3 million in 5 days, which is rather good. Well done to them! I bet they are glad they re-cast the unknowns for Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson, as their dashing good looks are no doubt responsible for most of the $$$, apart from the cool concept of the movie of course. Some people are saying that the Jumper could have been better, however some enjoyed it. It’s a mixed bag. However, if it continues to make good money there will no doubt be more films, as originally intended. Director Doug Liman spoke to Collider about the future of the teleporters. What he says may contain spoilers so beware!

“I actually have a ton of ideas for the sequel because this is whole new arena for me and so my mind was in overdrive the whole time and most of the ideas I came up with we either could tease or just save it for a sequel and so it’s…this power can be used to leave this planet, this power can be used ultimately to go back in time, this power can be used if you go and work for the government you’d be the ultimate Jason Bourne.”

“…Rachel Bilson’s character learns how to teleport in the 2nd book…In this case [the teleportation powers] are taught and it’s, you know, one of the things that may sort of…things we toyed with on this movie is do we actually need to do the obligatory rule scene, where you lay out everything the power can and can’t do. We ultimately decided to say we’re changing so many other sort of aspects of this genre like let’s not do the rule scene because the rules don’t ultimately…the limitations of this power aren’t ultimately…don’t factor into the finale…”

“Well, you know the kind of jumping that we’re showing in the movie which is a kind of worm hole jump which is why those scars are left behind, if you can travel through space through a worm hole from a scientific Einstein point of view, you could also travel through time. So you know that’s not quantum teleportation which is featured in the film, so I’m very specific to show those scars and to show that you’re leaving a worm hole and in fact that’s what Rachel Bilson gets pulled through in the end, so it’s….I’ve left myself open…I’ve left the door open to time travel because of the specific kind of teleportation that I chose to portray in this film.”

Liman has a couple projects coming up so we may not be seeing Jumper 2 for a while.

Small Updates: Conan, Jumper, WALL-E and Narnia!

Bloody Disgusting says they have “confirmed 100% that Rob Zombie has been taking meetings with Lionsgate and Nu Image to get behind the director’s chair for their upcoming Conan film.” If this turns out to be true, expect lots of blood, gore and a much darker Conan than we may have seen before.

An extended Jumper scene has appeared online and can be seen over at Yahoo!

An international trailer for WALL-E has popped up over at Empire. We get to see more of WALL-E, along with a whole new character and we finally get to see more of the plot line. Check it out here.

NarniaWeb received word that filming for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will start filming this summer, to be released in May 2009. Producer Mark Johnson said “As long as the Narnia movies keep succeeding and I don’t make a big mistake, I will continue doing them.”
