A Christmas Carol trailer

In the past we’ve had short pieces of footage but now we finally have a trailer for Robert Zemeckis’ A Christmas Carol. Ebenezer Scrooge begins Christmas being a bit of a bastard to his faithful clerk and his cheery nephew. But when the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come take him on an eye-opening journey revealing truths Old Scrooge is reluctant to face, he must open his heart to undo years of ill will before it’s too late.

The computer wizardry looks great, especially at the end when we get a close up shot of Scrooge. It’s a big improvement from The Polar Express.

As well as Jim Carrey the cast includes Colin Firth, Robin Wright Penn and Bob Hoskins, and will be released on November 6th.

Comingsoon.net received a new image from Robert Zemeckis’ A Christmas Carol which you can see above. Below we also have our first look at moving footage from the film. It lasts 19 seconds and I find the last 2 seconds hilarious. Watch below!

Yahoo! were given the first poster for Robert Zemeckis’ 3D take on A Christmas Carol. Jim Carrey plays not only Ebenezer Scrooge, but also the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come. Colin Firth plays Fred and Gary Oldman plays Bob Cratchit.

Despite being a Christmas film, Disney have decided to release it at the beginning of November.

…nose in Robert Zemeckis‘ A Christmas Carol, as the image below shows. This is our first look at Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge and it comes from Filmz.ru.

Robert Zemeckis directed Beowulf and The Polar Express so it’s no surprise that the film was shot entirely in performance capture. As well as Scrooge, Carrey will be playing the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come.

A Christmas Carol will be released in November 2009.

Technically this image is new, however it looks like it occurs a second or two after this image here, which we got back in August. In this new image from JimCarreyOnline Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor are actually going all ‘Brokeback Mountain‘ on us. The image is from the upcoming movie I Love You Phillip Morris, and while finding out what the movie was about I came across a French trailer which was released last week. Watch it below!

“I Love You Phillip Morris” tells the story of Steven Russell (Jim Carrey), a married conman who found himself in a Texan prison where he fell in love with Phillip Morris (Ewan McGregor). Steven Russell tried to escape from prison four times, coming up with more and more elaborate plans, including once faking his own death. Morris was eventually released but Russell landed over a hundred years behind bars because of his escape attempts.

Johnny Depp In Alice, The Lone Ranger and Pirates of the Caribbean 4

Disney held a presentation at the Kodak Theatre earlier today in Hollywood and they revealed new information about their future projects, many of which involve Johnny Depp.

The first bit of news is that Depp will be playing The Madd Hatter in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. There have been rumors that he would play the part in recent weeks and now it is official. Perfect casting right there.

The second bit of Depp news is that he has been cast in the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer produced adaptation of The Lone Ranger, which follows a masked Texas Ranger in the Old West who rights injustices with the aid of his native American assistant, Tonto, who Depp will be playing. The script is currently being written by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, who wrote the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.

This leads me nicely onto the news that Depp will be back as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 4. My guess is that the story will involve the Fountain of Youth which was hinted at towards the end of At World’s End. I just hope they get Geoffrey Rush back as Barbossa, as his character was a personal favourite and to see him on the big screen again would be a treat.

The first official image from Jim Carrey’s upcoming comedy I Love You Phillip Morris, has been revealed over at JimCarreyOnline.

Yes, that is Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor on the verge of swapping saliva, and yes this movie is about man love.

Jim Carrey + Ewan McGregor = Prison Love?

Jim and Ewan were recently seen hanging out at a gay bar! No, they’re not trying to tell us something… they’re doing research. For a new movie. Seriously!

The movie is called I Love You Phillip Morris, and it follows a married father (Carrey) who is sent to prison and falls in love with a cellmate named Phillip Morris (McGregor). His love leads him to make several escape attempts.

IMDb is listing it as a Comedy/Drama. A dromedy about a gay prison affair? I’m SO there! It has no set release date yet, but is currently filming for release sometime in 2009…!
