FilmNation Entertainment today announced that they’ll be handling international sales and distribution on Terrence Malick’s next two films, which are currently in pre-production and will shoot back-to-back in 2012.

No plot details for either film have been revealed, but The Tree of Life director has put together two impressive casts. The first film, Lawless, will star Ryan Gosling as the lead character, with Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, and Haley Bennett in supporting roles.

In the second film, Knight of Cups, Bale will take the lead, with Cate Blanchett and Isabel Lucas (Immortals) supporting. The Playlist says both are being described as “separate narratives” so it’s unlikely they’ll have a connection story-wise.

While the filmmakers are keeping quiet, Christian Bale and Terrence Malick were spotted shooting something at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in September so one film (likely Knight of Cups) may be music-related.

Universal have released the first official trailer for Tarsem Singh’s Greek epic Immortals, which stars Mickey Rourke, Henry Cavill and Freida Pinto. The movie has similarities to Clash of the Titans, but visually looks closer to 300.

Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares.

Secretly chosen by Zeus, Theseus must save his people from Hyperion and his hordes. Immortals also stars Kellan Lutz as Poseidon and Luke Evans as Zeus. John Hurt will play the earthly manifestation of Zeus, who acts as a mentor and teacher to Theseus, and Isabel Lucas will play his daughter Athena.

Relativity Media announced today that they’ve finally made their mind up and have decided to call Tarsem Singh’s 3D Greek fantasy Immortals. Up until now the film has been going by the name War of the Gods, however IMDB and various other places have been calling it Dawn of War.

Immortals is a cool name, although I thought War of the Gods would have been a more epic title. I suppose they didn’t want to be confused with the God of War movie currently in development, and Dawn of War is a popular video game which could have caused conflict.

Immortals is currently filming in Montreal and stars Henry Cavill as Theseus, Freida Pinto as oracle Phaedra, Mickey Rourke as King Hyperion and Kellan Lutz as Poseidon. Recently it was announced that Stephen Dorff, John Hurt, and Isabel Lucas had joined the cast. Dorff plays a master thief named Stavros who joins Theseus (Cavill) in his battle against the immortal Greek gods. John Hurt will play the earthly manifestation of Zeus, who acts as a mentor and teacher to Theseus, and Isabel Lucas (hot robot lady from Transformers 2) will play his daughter Athena.

Last week Relativity Media set the release date for November 11th 2011.

Vampires are currently the in thing at the moment with Twilight and True Blood dominating the big and small screen. So far I haven’t been ‘bitten’ as it were, and haven’t watched anything vampire related in years. Although that could change after seeing the trailer for Daybreakers.

The film is set in 2019 where a plague transforms the world’s population into vampires. With fewer humans to provide blood, the vampires seek to farm the remaining humans and to find a way to continue their existence. Meanwhile, a secret team of vampires uncover a way that would rescue the human race.

The trailer flew under my radar when it was released a few months ago, so here’s a new poster for the film along with the trailer.

Daybreakers stars Ethan Hawke, Isabel Lucas, Sam Neill, Willem Dafoe and will be released January 8th 2010.

MichaelBay.com has posted our first look at Australian actress Isabel Lucas who will be playing a character called Alice in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. She was also the female who Shia LaBeouf decided to have his hand crippling car accident with.

You will notice she is carrying an astronomy book with her, this is Michael Bay’s way of telling us that even though she has the looks to challenge Megan Fox, she is still incredibly intelligent and her intelligence will no doubt come in use at some point during the movie when convinient to the plot. Just like that other good looking Australian actress from the first film who’s intelligence cracked the Deceptacon’s voicemail for the Department of Defense.

Some lucky person had Michael Bay, Shia LaBoeuf and company filming outside of his window two nights ago, and he took some photos and video footage to prove it!

One scene involved Bumblebee racing down the street doing 180’s and making skid marks on the road.

In another scene /film report:

Later that night they filmed a scene where Isabel Lucas storms away from Bumblebee (in alt mode) after saying something to Sam through the passenger’s side window, leaving Shia LaBoeuf to talk to (or possibly yell at?) the car. Not exactly sure how this fits into the scene, but they were squirting this glowing green goo on Lucas. And yes, that is Michael Bay directing Shia and Isabel in the photo below.
