But what if that first look is of a sequel of a film that was just a complete mess, simultaneously tarnishing its source material and enraging fans completely?</p><p>That film is none other than <strong>G.I Joe: Retaliation</strong>, and, even with just a short 18 second preview, it seems the sequel is making quite the effort to make us forget about the original that shall not be named, discarding the ridiculously fake robotic &#8220;super suits&#8221; and instead focusing more on the powerhouse introduction of Dwayne &#8220;The Rock&#8221; Johnson and Bruce Willis. The film also stars Channing Tatum, RZA, Ray Stevenson, Adrianne Palicki, and Arnold Vosloo, among others.</p><p>Check out the preview below:</p><p><iframe width="590" height="330" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/11Zc0glHLUg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p>Now as I mentioned before, this is only a quick preview of the full length trailer, which will premier later today, so I&#8217;ll keep all the details and opinions at a minimum until then. Joe strike team, called the ultimate freedom fighting force, and got the handle G.I. This, of course, means the June release is out of the window, so Paramount has given the <strong>G.I Joe</strong> sequel, <strong>G.I. Joe: Retaliation</strong>, that slot.</p><p><span id="more-13341"></span>The site says &#8220;Abrams hasn&#8217;t formally committed and hasn&#8217;t approved a script yet&#8221;, but it&#8217;s only a matter of time. Joe: Cobra Strikes</strong>. The site says Johnson would play a character called Roadblock opposite Channing Tatum, who is most likely returning as Captain Duke Hauser.</p><p><span id="more-12872"></span><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roadblock_(G.I._Joe)">Wikipedia</a> states Roadblock&#8217;s &#8220;primary function in G.I. Joe is as a heavy machine gunner and a secondary function as a cook.&#8221; The character is also the cousin of Heavy Duty, who was played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje in <strong>G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra</strong>.</p><p><strong>Zombieland </strong>writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote the script for the sequel, and Jon M. Chu (<strong>Justin Bieber: Never Say Never</strong>, <strong>Step Up 3D</strong>) will be in the directors chair when filming begins later this year. Paramount have set the release date for August 10th, 2012, however Deadline speculates that with<strong> Star Trek 2 </strong>unlikely to meets it&#8217;s June 2012 release the studio may give <strong>G.I.
