Franklyn follows four intertwining stories, three of which take place in contemporary London and the fourth takes place in Meanwhile City, a parallel fantasy environment. In Meanwhile City, atheist vigilante Jonathan Preest (Phillippe) fights against the various religious presences. Ultimately, his path crosses with three others (Eva Green, Sam Riley, Bernard Hill) from London.

An international trailer for Franklyn has appeared online. The film has a Watchmen vibe to it and surprisingly was only made for $12 million. The cast includes Ryan Phillippe, Eva Green and Sam Riley and it will be released in the UK on February 20th. No word on a US release yet.

Angelina Jolie As Catwoman?

Despite writer David Goyer saying he doesn’t want Catwoman in the third Batman film, there are rumours whipping around that Angelina Jolie could be up for the role. Well according to a 74 year old woman she could be anyway.

Julie Newmar, Hollywood’s most iconic “Catwoman,” thinks Angelina Jolie is the right choice to slip into her skintight costume – once the steamy actress is back in fighting form.
“Angelina would own the part,” said Newmar.
“My industry friends tell me [she] has made inquiries about the role,” added the actress, who played Catwoman in the original “Batman” TV series starring Adam West.

Jolie probably would ‘own the role’ and has stared in a couple of action movie in her time so the stunts and whipping wouldn’t be a problem. However, if Angelina Jolie and The Dark Knight have a Google Fight she only loses by 3 million. Does Christopher Nolan really want an actress that will almost be as big as the film itself? We know Warner Bros weren’t too happy with Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise taking away some shine off the Batman Begins release. What if Jolie gets pregnant again? Or what if her and Christian Bale get together, leaving Brad Pitt to do all the magazine interviews and telling everyone he’s ‘doing fine’?

I think if Catwoman were to make an appearance (which I doubt she will) then she should be played by Miss Eva Green.

If not give Helen Mirren a call. She’ll do it.

BBC Reveals Quantum of Solace Secret?

Now this could be a case of reading too much into things, however it could potentially be a spoiler for Quantum of Solace, so if you do not want to know anything I suggest you remove your eyeballs or click another page…whichever is easiest.

Someone forwarded a BBC article to AICN about the recent news that Alicia Keys and Jack White were doing the theme song for the film. In the article it has the following sentence…

[Spoilers]

Quantum of Solace, the 22nd official film in the 007 series, picks up from Casino Royale as the secret agent sets out to avenge the apparent death of his lover.

Apparent death? From what I remember Bond tried to resuscitate Vesper but with no luck. Could this be a small mistake from whoever wrote the BBC article or can we expect to see Eva Green in Quantum of Solace?
