Plasmic Studio are a website all things flash, and they have used their flashy skills to compare original posters for Watchman, to the new recently released ones we got a week or two ago. Here is one below!

We Are A Step Closer To Seeing Harry Potters Invisibility Cloak

According to the BBC, scientists say they are a step closer to developing materials that could render people invisible, just like the invisible cloak in the Harry Potter movies.

Researchers at the University of California in Berkeley have developed a material that can bend light around 3D objects making them “disappear”. The materials do not occur naturally but have been created on a nano scale, measured in billionths of a metre. The team says the principles could one day be scaled up to make invisibility cloaks large enough to hide people.

“In order to have the ‘Harry Potter’ effect, you just need to find the right materials for the visible wavelengths,” says Prof Hess, “and it’s absolutely thrilling to see we’re on the right track.”

This all sounds cool but what about the murderers, rapists and child snatchers who will probably use this to carry out their evil plans. Will the scientists create a cool new technology or a threat to society?

Coolness: Rick Astley As James Bond

If you are a regular among the internet world you may have seen Rick Astley’s - Never Gonna Give You Up music video. It also likely that you have been Rick Roll’d in the process.

Someone over at Reddit made this poster of Rick Astley as James Bond.

The original poster for Quantum of Solace can be seen here.

Update: Someone provided /film with a movie trailer for the film, which can be seen by clicking here!

Coolness: Simpson-ized Superheroes

Ever wondered what an episode of The Simpsons would look like if Iron Man, Spider-Man and Batman dropped in for a visit? Well Springfield Punx have done the very cool thing of Simpson-izing a truckload of well known characters from movies, comic books, TV and games, so we don’t have to wonder any more.

Coolness: Fan Made Dragonball Trailer

I’ll admit Dragonball isn’t my most anticipated upcoming movie and at this point in time my expectations are low as it has the potential to be cheesy if not done right. We should be getting a Dragonball trailer within a month or two, which will hopefully raise people’s confidence in the film, however until then here is a very cool fan made trailer. This isn’t your average ‘take clips from existing material and put it against epic trailer music’. It is rather amazing for a fan made trailer.

Enjoy!

Coolness: Joker Concept Art

/Film got some scans from The Art of The Dark Knight showing some freaky looking concept designs for The Joker. They are a lot tamer than what Christopher Nolan eventually decided for Heath Ledger.

Would you prefer any of those designs or do you prefer this?

Robbie Coltrane Wanted In New Zealand

According to the BBC, Robbie Coltrane, best known for playing Hagrid is the Harry Potter movies and will be seen in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is being used on a wanted poster by police trying to catch a 16 year old burglar in New Zealand.

“Robbie Coltrane is not the burglar, but imagine him aged 16 with lank greasy hair and you have the picture,” the poster says.

“Because of the Children and Young Persons Act 1989 Police cannot show you a picture of the 16-year-old burglar operating in your neighbourhood.

“He is 16-years-old, lives locally, travels by bicycle and burgles houses in your street.

“He will break windows to gain entry and ransack the property targeting electronic items, cash and jewellery,” it adds.

Coltrane’s agent in London was unable to comment on the poster and said the actor was currently out of the country. However, I bet his first reaction is….WTF!?

John McCain In Wedding Crashers

The only politics Filmonic is interesed in is studio politics. However, Movie Moron noticed something interesting in the movie Wedding Crashers staring Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Jane Seymour, Christopher Walken, Rachel McAdams and…John McCain!

John McCain is should think twice before attacking Barack Obama for being a ‘celebrity’.

Coolness: Watchmen vs Heroes

One of the best trailers I have seen in a long while is for Watchmen (you can watch it again here). So any fan made attempts or trailer mash-ups of it will interest me hugely. The one below is probably the best I have seen. It was made by DrewboiX and uses footage from Heroes and the music from the Watchmen trailer.

Enjoy!
