A viral ad campaign for Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man has resulted in the first clip from the movie appearing online. As far as clips go it’s not all that interesting, and simply shows Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) trying to visit Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), but he’s greeted by a suspicious doorman who wants to know what’s in his bag (spoiler: it’s his Spider-Man suit).

This weekend it’s all about Harry Potter, but next weekend sees the release of Captain America: The First Avenger (in the US, anyway) and Marvel have released two new clips which showcase some shield wielding action.

The first clip features Steve Rogers coming across his future shield, and in the second clip we see him putting it into good use.

Captain America: The First Avenger will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving).

Emma Watson attended the 2011 MTV Movie Awards yesterday and presented a clip from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. I’m sure Warner Bros. had many available clips to show, but they decided to air Voldemort’s confrontation with Harry in the forest.

In the film, once again directed by David Yates, Harry, Ron, and Hermione return to Hogwarts after months on the run in the wilderness with the aim of finding, and destroying, Voldemorts final horcruxes. Voldemort finds out about their mission and the biggest battle of their lives begins as the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters descend upon Hogwarts.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will be released July 15th.

We’ve seen stills, bad posters and excellent trailers, now it’s time to see some clips and TV spots for Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class.

The first official clip from the film comes courtesy of Yahoo! and features Xavier and Raven Darkholme, along with Dr. Moira MacTaggert, in a meeting with the CIA. Unfortunately for them, Xavier can read minds.

This movie just keeps looking better and better.

20th Century Fox has also started ramping up TV advertisements, and we have a few new TV spots below with some new footage.

Matthew Vaughn’s movie, set for release on June 3rd, will focus on Xavier (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) as they work together with other mutants to stop the Hellfire Club, an international social club for wealthy elites who seek to influence world events to their own agenda. Kevin Bacon will play the leader, Sebastian Shaw, along with January Jones as Emma Frost.

The movie also features Dr. Moira MacTaggert (Rose Byrne), Azazel (Jason Flemyng), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Havok (Lucas Till), Angel Salvadore (Zoë Kravitz), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Banshee (Caleb Landry Jones) and Darwin (Edi Gathegi).

Warner Bros. has released a new clip from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 which shows us 1 minute and 33 seconds of the Seven Potters scene (the one where everyone turns into Harry). Voldemort and his Death Eaters are expecting Harry to be evacuated from the Dursleys so Ron, Hermione, Fred, George, Fleur Delacour and Mundungus Fletcher drink Polyjuice Potion to act as decoys.

Daniel Radcliffe said last year that this scenes was “the single most complicated sequence we’ve done in any of the films” as it required 95 takes in total. They basically had to do the same thing 95 times (or Radcliffe did anyway as he was playing everyone).

There will be a lot of Part I promotion coming up over the next few weeks, so prepare for a Potter overload.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will be released on November 19th.

Entertainment Tonight has released our first look at Passion Play, an independent movie from first time director Mitch Glazer which stars Mickey Rourke, Megan Fox, and Bill Murry. It was screened at the Toronto Film Festival over the weekend where it hopes to find distribution, and this clip was likely released to drum up some interest.

In the clip we see Mickey Rourke walking up to a window where he sees Megan Fox taking off her coat and unfurling wings from her back. The two then stare at each other for a while.

When a jazz trumpeter is taken to the desert and a gun held to his head, we are at the beginning of a delightful fable about romance and dreams. When he meets a beautiful woman who works as the Bird Woman in a circus, he falls madly in love and persuades her to run away with him only to find that life is a little more complicated than simply living one’s fantasies.

Passion Play will probably get a full trailer after it finds distribution, followed by a limited release at some point.

By this time next month 20th Century Fox may have a new franchise on their hands. That all of course depends on whether Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief can stand its ground against The Wolfman when it is released on February 12th. It has a lot going for it, having already established a fan base who read the books, as well as having good looking young leads and director Chris Columbus, who kick-started the Harry Potter franchise. There are also Greek Gods and multi-headed fire breathing monsters, which will no doubt appeal to casual movie goers in need of entertainment.

A clip from the movie has made its way online, and in it we see Percy Jackson with his version of Ron and Hermione taking on a Hydra, with their version of magic.

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief also stars Sean Bean, Kevin McKidd, Uma Thurman and Rosario Dawson.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released on DVD and Blu-ray next month (Amazon are currently selling the DVD for $10) and to gear people up Warner Bros. are starting to release some behind the scenes stuff, along with some deleted scenes that didn’t make it into the movie.

The scene below gives us an extended look at the students and professors as the clouds darken before the Death Eaters invasion. I can’t really see why it was cut down, but I’m sure they have their reasons.

During the months leading up to Terminator Salvation‘s release director McG revealed that a scene involving a topless Moon Bloodgood in the rain had been filmed, but there was a chance it wouldn’t make the final cut as they wanted to keep a PG-13 rating. Bloodgood herself described the scene as “a beautiful shot” and under the circumstances her character was in it wasn’t gratuitous, saying “Did you ever just want to get naked and connect to someone? Imagine the world is coming to an end and you just want to connect with someone and you’re like, ‘I don’t care.’”

Well the scene didn’t make it into the film, but it will be on the DVD as a deleted scene. It can also be seen below:

We saw a 50 second preview yesterday and now we have the full 5 minute clip. It’s crazy, it’s over the top and it’s full of CGI. I don’t think there will be a disaster movie in the future that will be able to top this.

It begins with John Cusack driving at high speed in a limo whilst on the phone to the mother of his children. He tells her to “pack up the kids” because “California is going down”. Less than a minute later everyone is in the limo and they are driving away from an earthquake (just like people ran from the cold in The Day After Tomorrow). For the rest of the clip it’s just pure mayhem and a special effects bonanza. You’ll have to watch it to understand what I’m talking about.

Obviously this is one of those big blockbusters that’s main selling point is the special effects. The story and acting will take a back seat, but people will lap it up and it will make a tonne of money. From the clip I got the feeling that the actors were under-acting, but I can understand why. Director Roland Emmerich will have told them the basics, however I don’t even think the actors could imagine what the end result would be.
