According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cameron Diaz and Benicio del Toro are teaming up for an action comedy called Agent: Century 21. Danish director Adam Hashemi will be making his feature directorial debut here, and Iron Man 3 writer/director Shane Black is producing. Hit the jump for more story details.

This will be yet another film in which Cameron Diaz plays a frazzled, out-of-her-element woman, as this one “tells the story of Mary Kay Curly (Diaz), a recent divorcee who cannot catch a break. Desperate to protect her real estate job and her kids, she agrees to take on an unpleasant task for her boss that gets her kidnapped and tossed into the center of a Mexican drug war.” Del Toro will play the cartel boss who gives her a second chance at life by assigning her a ludicrous mission to avenge his son’s death.

Sounds very clearly like everyone involved is trying to capitalize off Diaz’s recent performance in Knight and Day, but they’re missing the most fun element of that film: Tom Cruise. While Diaz was OK in her role, it was really Cruise that stood out as the memorable part of that equation. We’ll see how she stacks up against another heavy hitter in Benicio del Toro. Agent: Century 21 is the first of (probably) many projects we’ll write about here that are being shopped around at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, so we’ll try to keep you posted as they get picked up and acquire official release dates in the future.

Read similar posts to Cameron Diaz and Benicio del Toro to star in Agent: Century 21 on Filmonic

Benicio Del Toro won’t appear in Star Trek 2

Movie News

Benicio Del Toro

J.J. According to /Film the MPAA have reviewed The Wolfman and have given it an R rating, deeming it unsuitable for anyone under the age of 17 as it contains “bloody horror, violence and gore.” This is a good move by Universal as there were fears they would dilute it to a PG-13. It’s also a brave move as they could potentially make less money because of this rating.

We’ll let them worry about the money and we can just focus on seeing, what could be, one of the best horror movies in 2010. Lets hope so anyway, as director Joe Johnston will soon be working on Captain America and we don’t want that movie to detail The Avengers.

The Wolfman stars Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro and Hugo Weaving, and will be released next February.

Read similar posts to The Wolfman will be bloody and violent on Filmonic

Here’s a new featurette for The Wolfman

Movie News

Anthony Hopkins

Benicio Del Toro

Emily Blunt

Featurette

The Wolfman

Universal has released a new featurette which gives us a better understanding of the story behind The Wolfman.
