Film School Rejects got themselves a new official poster for Shane Acker’s 9. There seems to be lots of movies coming out this year with the word and/or number 9 involved. Thankfully they are all different. We have this 9, which is all animated and glowy. Nine, which is a musical featuring songs, dance and Daniel Day-Lewis, and lastly District 9 which is about aliens in Africa.

Anyway, here’s the poster:

A second trailer for Shane Acker’s 9 has scurried online and it is a lot like the first one, however that is not a bad thing as the first trailer was great. This new trailer gives us a bit more information as to why little sacks with number on them are running around, and we get to see a bunch of new footage. It’s quite refreshing to see an animated film that is a bit darker and isn’t aimed at children. It’s aimed that the big children instead.

9 will be released in September and features the vocal cords of Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau, John C. Reilly, Crispin Glover and Jennifer Connelly.

We haven’t heard or received anything 9 related since we got the trailer back in December. The trailer (click here to watch) was one of the best trailers i’d seen in a long while, and I’ve lost count how many times I’ve watched it (however for the sake of hilarity I’ll say 9). Now we have a clip to cast our eyes on! In the clip 9 (Elijah Wood) and 7 (Jennifer Connelly) try to fight off a monster, but 7 is taken hostage (where the hell is 3.5 when you need him!?) Back in 2006 a short film called 9 earned itself an Oscar nomination for being so good. Now, 3 years on, the short has been made into a feature film that is being produced by Tim Burton and Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov.
