J.J Abram’s Star Trek reboot has been getting great reviews so far, however it appears not everyone is happy with the film:

Yet again the films ignore Yeoman Rand and Nurse Chapel. Rand in particular was very important at the beginning of the original Star Trek series - for christs sake she was the FOURTH most important cast member, until the actress was sacked back in 1966 - when she was assaulted by somebody high up in the studio's and got rid of to cover it up. Ignoring her character almost makes Paramount look like she never existed - yet they are happy to use more minor characters in the film?! Why. And Chapel appeared in all 3 original series. Their lack of appearence in the film is a joke.

And some people wonder why Trekkies are virgins.

... Chapel was not in all 3 original series. She was in the original series and that was it, and she was just a minor character.

You are confusing Nurse Chapel with Lwaxana Troi, and possibly the ships computer. All of these characters were played by Majel Barrett-Roddenberry; Gene Roddenberry's wife.
