Some Good News And Some Bad News For Star Trek Fans!

I’ll start with the bad news first. Paramount have decided to push back the release date of JJ Abrams’ Star Trek from December 25th 2008 to May 8th 2009. Apparently it is part of a reshuffle that is going on over at Paramount, however there could be other reasons. Which brings me onto the good news. /Film say that JJ Abrams was frustrated during filming because he could not change the script due to the writers strike. Now that the strike is over, he may want to go back and change a couple of things, which will no doubt improve the film. With the release date being pushed back a couple of months, it will give time for them changes to be filmed and any special effects that need to be added can be. The other good news is that Star Trek is now officially a summer movie, which means it may make more money, resulting in sequels! Everyone likes sequels!

As of now it’s only competition is X-Men Origins: Wolverine a week before on May 1st, followed by The Da Vinci Code prequel Angels & Demons on the 15th.
