Sin City 2 script is being re-written

sin city 2 Since Sin City was released in 2005 directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller have been talking about making a sequel every year. In 2008 they were apparently “close to beginning production”, then they were planning on filming in 2009, and the latest thing we heard was that it would begin production in the second half of 2010.

That isn’t looking likely, however Rodriguez has confirmed yet again that Sin City 2 will happen and he is planning on re-working the script.

From Digital Spy:

The film-maker, who will next make a Spy Kids sequel in September, told Digital Spy that he is still hoping to direct the follow-up to his 2005 adaptation of Frank Miller’s popular Dark Horse comic.

“We’re still working on Sin City, I want to do it so we’ll see. It’s just a matter of when,” said Rodriguez.

“We have a script… a rewritten script that we still have to write and it’s just finding the right time slot to do it.”

Rodriguez has always found something to keep him busy, whether it be directing Grindhouse, Shorts, Machete and Spy Kids 4 or producing movies such as Predators. He was most recently linked to Deadpool which, if he decided to take on, would probably keep him busy for a year or two after he has finished Spy Kids.

I don’t expect to see Sin City 2 anytime soon, so I won’t hold my breath.
