Ladies and gents, that’s right. Your eyes do not deceive you; a trailer has been released for Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master. Well, sort of. More of a teaser. Producer Megan Ellison swooped in with financing last year which really got the film secured. Considering the giant nod it gives something, it’s a dream come true it got made.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s follow-up to the outa-the-park homerun There Will Be Blood, The Master stars Philip Seymour Hoffman as a war vet who comes home broken, torn and confused from WWII. As a writer, he starts to chronicle his thoughts out and movement on his belief system sets off, with Joaquin Phoenix as his right hand man.
A few weeks ago, we got this clip of Joaquin Phoenix doing his thing in a montage of footage. It gave us a taste of what was in store for us, and we liked what we saw.
This is next on my list, tied with Skyfall for most anticipated, well, after Batman of course.
The Master has a release date set for October 2012.
