Chris Evans was announced as Marvel’s Captain America a few weeks ago, however there were other actors who took part in the auditioning process but ultimately failed to land the role. Scott Porter was one of those unlucky few who had to compete with Evans and his “wonderful enthusiasm for everything he saw”, and he spoke about his experience.
“I tested for it. I got to put the shirt on, I got to put the shield on, I got to shoot on sets. We were on the Thor sets and they built little side sets for the Captain America screen tests. It was a phenom experience.”
How cruel of Marvel to give these actors the shield, knowing full well only one will be using it for real. Porter doesn’t seem too disappointed about missing out on the role though, as he told the interviewer that he has his sights set of playing The Flash, which is currently in development at Warner Bros.
