Matthew Vaughn will direct the X-Men: First Class sequel
Moon actor Sam Rockwell will be re-teaming with Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau for Cowboys and Aliens. According to HeatVision Rockwell will play a bar owner named Doc who joins in the pursuit of the aliens. The writers apparently expanded the role after they found out Rockwell was interested in it.
Rockwell will be joining Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford and Noah Ringer in the film which explores what would happen if the traditional Old West enemies – cowboys and Native Americans – found the prairie attacked by aliens in mid-1800s Arizona. Craig will be playing a gunslinger who is joined by a woman named Ella (Wilde), and together they attempt to take on the alien invasion.
Filming will begin next month.
