Sam Claflin is still an unknown to many, but that may change soon as he will be seen later this month as Philip (Orlando Bloom 2.0) in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Appearing in popular franchises is good for getting ones name out there, and now according to Deadline Universal has set the actor to play the role of the prince in Snow White and the Huntsman.
Only a few days ago we heard the studio were after Thor‘s Chris Hemsworth to play the Huntsman, so with the male lead almost sorted it seems they are now moving onto the supporting characters.
This telling of Snow White focuses on the Huntsman who is hired by the evil queen (Charlize Theron) to track down her runaway stepdaughter (Kristen Stewart). After realizing the queen intends to kill Snow White, he helps her escape, and the pair go on the run. First time director Rupert Sanders is directing, and the aim is to release the film in December 2012.
