I hope he can handle an action film but dancing is one of the most physically demanding professions, plus with his choreography background we might get some interesting scenes. He sounds like an INTELLIGENT director so hopefully Depp and Rush will work well with him. Overall, this sounds like an interesting mix and thanks Disney for picking a quality director for my favorite films (all of them).

I had to look Marshall up, not knowing a lot of the directors, and Marshall has an impressive resume and with Chicago can handle tongue-in-cheek humor – also can probably handle the hype and scrutiny POTC4 will get. Like you said, they got Gore Verbinski that was coming after Mousehunt and The Ring and after that they got Mike Newell to direct Prince of Persia, while he did make Goblet of Fire, that's about it when it comes to big movies.

I'm all down for Rob Marshall because it seems Jerry B. and Disney have had a good eye for directors so far with this kind of movies. I want something different from this franchise and I think Rob can bring that.

It seems Disney is constantly going out of their way to hire unexpected directors for this kind of movies.
