Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time trailer!

by Liam on November 3, 2009 · View Comments

prince of persia The trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was broadcast on UK TV earlier today and had found it’s way onto YouTube in sub-par quality. IGN were originally going to officially release the trailer at 7pm PST, however as it was already online they decided to put it out there early in HD, and I’m glad they did. It’s quite good.

I didn’t really know what to expect from this. Jerry Bruckheimer wanted to create a new franchise after Pirates of the Caribbean, and from the trailer it looks like Persia is going to be huge. It’s a special effects heavy blockbuster, with two good looking leads and lots of action. Who won’t be seeing this?

  • Release date for the UK is May so not to long to wait. And with Jake Gyllenhaal as lead role it should be a good one to watch. Pop corn anyone?
  • By the look of when he uses the dagger and the appearance of the dagger tail, we might see the dark prince in the first movie (hopefully this won't be the only movie). I'm excited to see how this turns out.

I'm so high off all these awesome trailers. >.> Looking forward to this movie, loved the games, and I hope they stick somewhat to the game story, because it'd be interesting to see a Warrior Within, and a Two Thrones thrones movie. :3 Because those 2 were incredibly good, and, in my opinion, way better then the first game.
Though, from watching this trailer, I can't tell if they really stuck to the game plot or not. D: Damn Hollywood and it's dislike for source material. Could be wrong though, I'll go see it in theaters either way.

I think that the movie will be heavily entertaining but for the life of me I cant understand why hollywood continues to cast white people in roles of different ethnicity instead of just getting an actor of that ethnicity. Most people say, because Jake gyllen-whatev will bring in more money, but I dont think he'll bring in more money than some other super chiseled beautiful man of the right ethnicity.
Like i said, Ill see it because I do love Prince of Persia but its just getting old. No matter much dirt and sweat you throw on him, He's a white boy in the middle of Persia. By the way, he is a great actor in my opinion as well. I just dont know how much i can take of this crap. I would have loved to see the guy who played sayid in Lost play this role.

Not really, i can see the Iranian influence especially around the eyes and the eyebrows. It is definitely not European.
