on stranger tides barbossaOver the weekend we saw some videos from the set of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides which featured a scene between Barbossa and Gibbs (Geoffrey Rush and Kevin McNally) on a beach full of debris.

Now thanks to gerGnesdunK we have some high quality shots from the shoot, and from Barbossa’s attire it would appear he is no long a pirate. Either that or the scene is a flashback of some sort (or Barbossa is going undercover). Geoffrey Rush also has a blue right foot, which could suggest they plan to add a pirate pegleg during post-production.

A short distance behind Barbossa lies this creature, which looks a lot like a mermaid. Both Astrid Berges-Frisbey and Emma Ward have been cast as mermaids in the film so we know they appear. and they may be in for a rough time if this image is anything to go by.

If that blue foot is to be a pegleg (likely) then rather unlikely that it's to be a flashback, unless limbs can be brought back from the dead as well as an entire pirate was (and why not?)

I would have to agree. Though the thought of Barbossa joining the side of 'justice' is… frankly whack. And I have to wonder what Gibbs is doing in this scene then.

Groves aswell (on his knees). Very odd.

May we assume that, with such lovelies as Cruz, Gemma Ward and Astrid Berges-Frisbey in this latest installment, that the movie will now be rated “Arrrrrrrrrrrr?”
