This is Infamous recently spoke to Pirates of the Caribbean 5 directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, and while they didn’t reveal any plot details for the next film, they did confirm the movie will be called Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
It’s quite a wordy title, especially when you compare it to the short and snappy Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End. Dead men tell no tales became famous thanks to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland and basically means once someone is dead they can no longer reveal your secrets. This suggests there will be something along those lines within the story, but we can’t really take more from it than that.
Disney aims to begin shooting Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in early 2014 for a July 10, 2015 release. No casting other than Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow has been confirmed so far, but it won’t be long until we hear more.
Jeff Nathanson, writer of Rush Hour 2 and 3, Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal, and more recently Tower Heist, was brought on to work on the script earlier this year.
