Silver screen icons and Academy Award winners Robert DeNiro, Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline have teamed up for a new comedy entitled Last Vegas (which appears to be the geriatric version of The Hangover). Unfortunately, based on this trailer it actually looks more like Grown Ups or Wild Hogs aside from the Vegas setting. The film was just branded with an R-rating for brief sexual content, but the filmmakers intend to appeal that decision; so it looks as if these ‘grumpy old men’ will not be getting as wild as ‘The Hangover‘ boys.

Here’s the synopsis:
Billy (Michael Douglas), Paddy (Robert De Niro), Archie (Morgan Freeman) and Sam (Kevin Kline) have been best friends since childhood. So when Billy, the group’s sworn bachelor, finally proposes to his thirty-something (of course) girlfriend, the four head to Las Vegas with a plan to stop acting their age and relive their glory days. However, upon arriving, the four quickly realize that the decades have transformed Sin City and tested their friendship in ways they never imagined. The Rat Pack may have once played the Sands and Cirque du Soleil may now rule the Strip, but it’s these four who are taking over Vegas.
While it’d be nice to see these actors get together for something with more substance, watching these acting legends interacting in any capacity should be somewhat interesting. The trailer isn’t particularly funny, and the humor seems somewhat lame, but maybe the best parts have been saved for the actual movie. Maybe.
Last Vegas is directed by Jon Turtletaub (National Treasure) and written by Adam Brooks (Definitely, Maybe) and Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love, The Guilt Trip). It will be released on November 1st.
