Paramount Pictures have released the first trailer for Paranormal Activity 3. The movie looks set to be a prequel to the previous films (the camera has a date of 1988) which revolves around the sisters Katie and Kristi, played by Katie Featherston and Sprague Grayden in the first two films.
You can watch the trailer below:
The new movie is directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (directors of Catfish) and Paranormal Activity 2 writer Michael R. Perry is responsible for the script.
The first Paranormal Activity movie grossed $193 million on a budget of $15,000, and the the sequel performed just as well by taking in $176 million on a $3 million budget. These micro-budget horror movies are highly profitable, so we can probably expect this franchise to run for a while.
Paranormal Activity 3 is set to hit screens on October 21st.
