Patrick Fugit To Be The Next Spider-Man?

Latino Review, the site that got the scoop of Jake Gyllenhaal landing the lead in Prince of Persia, may have another scoop on their hands. This is a major casting scoop if it turns out to be true. Here’s what they had to say :

Laura Ziskin and Grant Curtis are tossing names around. NO OFFERS HAVE BEEN YET. That being said, the name at the top of their list to replace Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spiderman is…

…PATRICK FUGIT.

I have no idea who he is and haven’t seen anything that he has been in, but he has had roles in Almost Famous and The Good Life. He also looks quite like Peter Parker in my opinion.

Latino Review also say that if Fugit doesn’t work out, they will go a bit younger and are looking at Michael Angarano, who stared recently in The Forbidden Kingdom. However, based on looks I prefer Partick Fugit. I haven’t seen any of them act before however I’m sure other people have.

Recent rumours suggest that Sony are planning on filming Spiderman 4 and 5 back to back, and recently Marvel Vice Chairman Peter Cuneo said that Sony had some casting decisions to make, which are looking more like re-casting decisions than anything.

What do you think to these rumours? Would they make good Tobey Maguire replacements?

And The 2008 Golden Trailer Award Goes Too…

The Dark Knight!

44% of voters decided on the USA Today website that the second trailer for The Dark Knight was ‘the best’ this year. It beat out other trailers in its Best Action category earlier in the year, consisting of Iron Man, Live Free or Die Hard and Hellboy 2. It then went on to beat Enchanted (Best Animation/Family), Tropic Thunder (Best Comedy), Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? (Best Documentary), No Country for Old Men (Best Drama), and I am Legend (Best Horror).

I think it is well deserved, as the trailer certainly got me pumped. Last years winner was 300, which again deserved to win. I am a trailer nut so these awards are more important to me than the Oscars, even though the winners are decided by USA Today visitors and not experiences members of the movie industry.

You can remind yourself why the trailer won by watching it below!

Witchblade Teaser Poster

A sexual new teaser poster for Witchblade has been released, along with a teaser website, despite no filming taking place and no actress currently signed to play the lead role. I had no idea what Witchblade was until two minutes ago, but apparently the original Top Cow comic book series has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide since it was created in 1995. It also spawned a TNT television series which ran for two seasons beginning in 2000, and a Japanese Anime television show in Japan in 2006.

The story follows a specially chosen female who comes into possession of “a supernatural, sentient artifact with immense destructive and protective powers” called the Witchblade. The jewel-encrusted gauntlet gives the wearer extraordinary powers. The feature length theatrical live-action film will take a “more horror-based approach.”

Sienna Miller Has Blood Pouring Down Her Face!

IESB got some set pictures of Sienna Miller on the set of G.I. Joe strutting her stuff in leather as The Baroness. The actress who described G.I Joe as “Guns, tits, ass, no acting!” forgot to add “fake blood” to the list, as it appears to be on her face.

The shots come from the streets of Prague, where G.I. Joe is currently filming.

Coolness: Royal Mail Hammer Horror Stamps

The UK Royal Mail are celebrating 50 years of Hammer Horror films with three new stamps featuring original cinema posters of Dracula, The Mummy and The Curse of Frankenstein, which all stared Christopher Lee.

Lee will make history next month by being among the first living non-royals to be portrayed on a British stamp, breaking an 80 year old tradition. The Queen has personally approved the designs, and the British public will be able to get licking them in June.
