You’d expect something as dramatic as a “final trailer” to really convince you, make Exodus: Gods and Kings a must watch this holiday season, right? Sadly I don’t feel that’s the case with this one.
I guess it’s a very visually impressive movie, no doubt, but that can only take you so far (with notable exceptions, obviously). Only a few months ago Noah, another big budget Bible story, finished its box office run with $362.6 million worldwide. The big difference between the two is Noah cost $125 million while Exodus: Gods and Kings is more like $200 million, and considering Ridley Scott is directing, I would not be surprised if that estimate is indeed accurate. So in essence Exodus has a heavier weight tied to its ankle, one that’s not gonna be easy to escape from.
Starring in Exodus: Gods and Kings are Christian Bale, Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley, John Turturro or Joel Edgerton. You’ll be able to see this new adaptation of the famous Bible story starting December 3rd in South Korea and December 12th in the US.
