Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford are looking for answers in the beautiful and much more action heavy 2nd official trailer for Blade Runner 2049.
“Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard, a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.”
As Blade Runner 2049‘s release date is getting closer we start to see that this sequel, while looking very much like a continuation of the original in both visuals and spirit, in many ways will probably be a different beast. I honestly don’t think audiences in 2017 would have the patience for a movie as slow as the 1982 cult classic, which is probably why it looks like Blade Runner 2049 will move considerably faster and also feature more action sequences. I don’t know about other fans but I’m okay with that.
Denis Villeneuve directed while Hampton Fancher and Michael Green penned the screenplay for Blade Runner 2049, based on characters from the Philip K. Dick novel ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?‘. Starring in the sci-fi thriller are Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Mackenzie Davies and more.
Blade Runner 2049 is set to open October 6th in the US and most of the world. That’s 35 years, 3 months and 11 days after the theatrical release date of the original Blade Runner.
