Side Effects, the latest Steven Soderbergh flick, has just gotten a new trailer. Side Effects will be the last film by Soderbergh (other than one made exclusivity for HBO) for some time, as he plans to take a long “sabbatical” after its release.
The trailer and the film’s official description are below:
SIDE EFFECTS is a provocative thriller about Emily and Martin (Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum), a successful New York couple whose world unravels when a new drug prescribed by Emily’s psychiatrist (Jude Law) – intended to treat anxiety – has unexpected side effects.
If this movie was made by just about anyone else I’d be pretty dismissive about it, but Soderbergh has a way of taking mundane or clichéd subject matter and working miracles. You can check out Filmonic’s positive review of the film here.
Side Effects opens February 8th and will reunite some of Soderbergh’s past collaborators including Catherine Zeta Jones (Traffic, Oceans Twelve) Channing Tatum (Magic Mike, Haywire) and Jude Law (Contagion) who will be joined by rising star Rooney Mara.
