New trailer for Hotel Transylvania

hotel transylvania movie 2012 Image When he is not opening R-rated box office bombs like That’s My Son, Adam Sandler voices Dracula in the upcoming Sony Pictures animated flick Hotel Transylvania. This new trailer gives us a better look at the father-daughter relationship… at least until the human comes.

Watch below:

So Dracula has a daughter called Mavis, voiced by Selena Gomez, and in order to protect her he builds this castle exclusively for monsters, called Hotel Transylvania. Everything is all fine up until a human (Andy Samberg) manages to somehow find the hotel. The human, called Jonathan, falls in love with Mavis and that’s probably when all hell breaks loose.

Here’s an interesting bit of information, That’s My Son, the box office bomb I mentioned in the intro, also stared Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg and weird enough, it was about a father-son relationship. Hotel Transylvania is a father-daughter business, something Sandler should have more experience with (since he has after all two daughters).

Hotel Transylvania was directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Laboratory) and features the voices of Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, Steve Buscemi, Kevin James and David Spade among others.

In the words of Leonardo DiCaprio from Djandgo Unchained, “you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention”, Hotel Transylvania opens September 21st in North America and October 12th in the UK.

Cute movie. Has a couple of great messages — especially one about prejudices. There are some adult jokes, some childish jokes, lots of laugh out loud moments but most importantly the following messages: Hatred against those we don’t know is wrong; Let yourself get to know a person before deciding whether they are good or not; and go along for the ride and let yourself enjoy life.

I also love the fact that this is a Dad raising his child situation. There are really few movies that show a Dad can step up and do the right thing for their children if given the chance.

While I didn’t particularly care for the fart joke or some of the childish parts the kids in the theater laughed and laughed.

    Well done!
