Pixar’s amazing Toy Story trilogy may be over, but they have been kind enough to give us a few shorts featuring the beloved characters. We now know details surrounding another short on the way, which will be a Halloween special released next year. The short will be called Toy Story of Terror and the plot will revolve around the toys visiting a spooky motel.
Unlike the previous Toy Story Toons, it will not be shown before a movie; instead it will be a TV special. This formula has worked well for Pixar’s main competitors, Dreamworks, who have been releasing holiday TV specials for years. So far the Toy Story Toons have been well received by both critics and audiences.
The first short, Hawaiian Vacation, was shown before Cars 2. The next shorts; Small Fry and Partysaurus Rex were produced by Pixar’s subsidiary, Pixar Canada, and released alongside the films; The Muppets and Finding Nemo 3D, respectively. It seems that Pixar Canada has been given full reign for any upcoming Toy Story Toons, including Toy Story of Terror.
