So, how much did New Moon make?

I'm pretty sick of all this hype, to be honest. If I see it, it'll probably be somewhere around next week because then all the insane fan girls won't be there. I don't want to hear squealing everytime Edward comes on screen.
It just frustrates me that something so unoriginal and average gets so much attention and praise.
It's finally hitting me how huge these hordes of Twilight fans are. Mostly because the People's Choice awards website finally has the nominees up so you can vote for them, and I was really excited to vote for my picks.. but then I realized Twilight is going to win in every category it's put in, thanks to these mindless swarms upon swarms of Twi-hards voting everything Twilight. It just really drives me nuts, and I'm annoyed at the possibility that New Moon may beat Avatar sales, and I think that's such a complete shame. Maybe the hype will pass once New Moon is out though. Hopefully.

That is my rant.

I really understand how annoying all these little 12 year old girls are getting. But I'm 16 and I've read all the books and I've loved them since they came out. I bought every book the day it came out and read the whole thing in one day. I hate all these little girls that have never read the books and are just obsessed with the movies because"Edward is sooo hot." And its annoying to have people generalize Twilight fans into one annoying mass.
There are definably the "mindless" little girls that just love the movies.
But there are also people that love the books much more than the movies. I went to see the movies because I loved the books and I wanted to see how good of a job they could have done on the movie. Its not unoriginal, if you read the books you would know that the way their written is amazing and it really draws you into the story. Their very good books.
Its just stupid obsessed little tweens that ruin it for the real fans.
And why aren't you bashing Harry Potter fans, or Star Wars fans? There as much, if not more obsessed than Twilight fans.

Btw New Moon was AMAZING but Twilight was much better in my opinion. But they did a great job with the wolfs looking realistic. They changed a bit of the storyline around but other than that they did a good job with the effects. Taylor did an amazing job as Jacob and they did a great job showing his changing through the movie. Edward was not shown as much in this movie because he was gone for most of the story, but he did a great job too, especially in the scene where he leaves Bella. The ending was upsetting lol, but thats pretty much how the book ends so I guess its ok.
But all together is was GREAT!:)

I have invoked the wrath of Twilight fans. And I'm not bashing you, you have every right to like a series, lol, go forward, it doesn't effect me at all.

I'm just saying I'm getting tired of the huge fanbase of people who somehow have their blinders on, and think everything Twilight related is the most amazing thing on the planet; because it isn't. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying for so much hype, it isn't as good as it's made out to be.

You're entitle to your opinion, but so am I. I'm obviously not going to be convinced into being a Twilight fan, and I'm clearly not going to convince you out of being a Twilight fan, so all these comments are pretty pointless. Probably shouldn't compare Twilight to Star Wars though.
But I respect your opinion, and you actually made the most sense out of most of the other Twilight fangirls I've talked to, so kudos. :3 Most other fans are, like you said, mindless 13 year old tween fanatics.

Okay, for one thing I am an 18 year old twilight fan... and my parents didnt pay shit for anyof my twilight things, the books included and movies. But twiligt is a dif version of vampires... but dont dis someone elses perspective on something.. its better than copying everyone else. I am 50 years old I read and loved the Twlight Saga. The movies were a little disapointing. But you kandb read like a very angry person, or as elmo5050 put it one of those sterotypical asshole. I think you're just jealous because your girl friend has the hots for Edward ,Jacob, and Emmet.Try reading them, bet you haven't.

New moon was a good movie it acutally suprised me how much attention it got and how much money its making but thumbs up =0)

First of all, New Moon is COMPLETELY original and it is way above average. The reason it has so much hype is simply because people love the books! There are so many people that relate with the book and the way Stephenie Meyer writes it, you really feel that you know the characters and you love them! And, you really cant judge the movie unless you read the books. Even the littlest things that some of the characters do are in the book. New Moon is simply amazing!

If you're replying to me, I did read the books; so I could have a valid opinion. But, you're entitle to your own opinion. :) It just frustrates me that it's getting so much media and hype and it really isn't all THAT amazing, and isn't THAT well written. It's a fairly good series, but it's not as amazing as it's made out to be. And how can it be? It's so incredibly popular.

I LOVE that it is getting so much media. I think it deserves it. Especially because all the actors in the movie deserve to be known because they are great (much better acting in this movie, especially Jacob). And you are right, the books are not extremely well written or anything, but then again its meant to be for teens, not some high level of literature. People just relate to it is all. But, the craziness will continue until the end of Breaking Dawn (even after), so might as well revel in it, I know I will!

You have to appreciate how this all came about. We only wish it could happen to us. A mother with children writes four books, all best sellers, and then they become movies. Also, the population to target to make money are teenagers. She definitely did her homework! It was great not seeing teenagers engaging in lots of sexual nudity or heavy making out scenes, and they are not doing a lot of drinking and drugs. It's kind of refreshing not seeing some male part flashed on the big wide screen. You go Stephanie! You deserve all the success you are getting, and then some! The only bummer is that we have to wait one more year for the next one. As I watched New Moon, I forgot it was going to end, and then when it did, I finally came back to reality and realized about two hours had gone by.

so , people are INTITLED to their own opinion . but i saw new moon last night and it was AMAZINGGGG ! i was lucky to get in cause it was almost sold out for the night! Every twilight movie they make is gunna get sold out so quickly. The reason that New Moon is constantly being brought up and so huge in the media is because they get paid loads of money probably just to have a picture of Robert Pattinson smoking a cigerette. Media feeds off the crazed fans eventually creating more twilight fanatics. I remember being really disappointed with the movie twilight, but still saw it atleast 3 or 4 times because I loved getting to see the book's plots outside of my imagination. Even if New Moon was made in the Director's back yard I'd still probably go see it more than twice just to see it visually. I think this is how most twilight fans that have read the book think about the movie. As a twilight fan you appreciate the movie, but the books are always better.

Yes, the books are always better than the films. I thought New Moon was much better than any of the others and I am dissappointed at all of the negative comments about the movie. Twilight was a big let down to those of us who would actually prefer a smaller fanbase revolving around the movie, because, (and everyone should know this), the majority of people who are "In Love" with everything Twilight related, have Not actually read the books. All they are interested in is the trend. If Twilight hadn't become a movie I'd bet anything that no one would know about the books. I mean, the books didn't get big until around 2007-2008, when it leaked out that a film was being built. I read them when they first came out in 2005. I am beyond pissed to hear girls at my school talk about how "Hot" Robert and Taylor are (especially Taylor), when I'm thinking, "Well that's nice, but what about the actual story?"
I remember thinking how nice it would be if it were to become a movie, but I didn't actually expect it to happen.
But since it has, I think New Moon was 100 percent better than Twilight. It kept to the storyline pretty closely, while Twilight was all over the place and a complete mess! I'm glad they had a different director for the second one.
I'm curious what Eclipse will pan out to be, since they switched Victoria! How could they ever think they could get away with that? Bryce would have been a good choice in the beginning, but she wasn't, and now we all have to suffer the consequences.
If you didn't think New Moon was that good then if you ever see it again, pay attention to the acting. All I can say is, bad acting, after bad acting, after bad acting. Once again, better than Twilight, (Rob was too stiff), but keep loosening it up. These books actually have humor in them and I don't remember having laughed one time while watching Twilight. New Moon did better in that area, which is probably the biggest difference I noticed.
It's not exactly wrong to like the films, but please, just at least read through the series before you decide you are dedicated, when you know nothing about how they came to be.
