Forget The Dark Knight or The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Tarsem Singh’s Mirror Mirror is “the motion picture event of the year” according to this new international trailer.
Relativity Media are obviously overselling the movie slightly, but that could have been expected given the competition from Snow White and the Huntsman, and the potential for a big box office hit following the success of Alice in Wonderland.
You can watch the trailer below:
Mirror Mirror still looks a bit too silly and family oriented for my liking, but there’s plenty of people who flock to these types of movies. The movie was originally set to be released on March 16, but Relativity recently pushed it back about two weeks to March 30 where it will now open against Wrath of the Titans. As both are targeting different audiences it shouldn’t be much of a problem.
Mirror Mirror, begins with the evil stepmother (Julia Roberts) killing Snow White’s father (Sean Bean) and destroying the kingdom. Snow White (Lily Collins) then bands together with a gang of seven quarrelsome dwarves to reclaim what is rightfully hers. Armie Hammer plays Prince Andrew Alcott and Nathan Lane plays Brighton, the Queen’s servant.
