Today Variety reports that Nestor Carbonell (Lost) is in talks to reprise his role as Gotham City’s Mayor in The Dark Knight Rises. In The Dark Knight he was only credited as “Mayor”, so he may get a name this time round. If not, at least Christopher Nolan is still linking Rises to the previous films. Continuity is always a good thing.
The Dark Knight Rises is set for release on July 20th, 2012 and will begin filming in Pittsburgh in May. Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman will reprise their roles alongside new additions Tom Hardy (Bane), Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anne Hathaway (Catwoman). Josh Pence will play a young Ra’s al Ghul, and Marion Cotillard is thought (although no confirmed) to be playing his daughter, Talia Al’Ghul.
