Morgan Freeman Is Running Out Of Good Roles To Play
70 year old Morgan Freeman has had a long and fulfilling career. To date he has played a Principal, Judge, Sargent, Detective, Doctor, Colonel, The First Black President Of The United States of America and even God. So after all those years of playing a wide variety of characters, are there any roles Freeman is actually looking forward to playing?
“I don’t think there are any great parts that I want to play. There are some stories I want to tell and I want to tell them primarily as a producer.
“I think I’m getting a little long in the tooth to play some of the roles I’ve dreamed of playing. My dream Western, for instance - riding is fine. But getting on and off a horse is the problem. It becomes problematic.”
However, Freeman will get to fulfil one of his dreams, as he will be on screen as Nelson Mandela in Clint Eastwood’s The Human Factor. We will also be seeing him twice this summer, as Lucius Fox in The Dark Knight and as fraternity leader Sloan in Wanted. If Morgan does eventually decide that it is time to move behind the camera, there is no doubt that we will still be hearing his voice as the narrator roles will probably always be there.
