Back in February there were rumblings that Pixar were starting to work on Monsters Inc. 2, a sequel to the 2001 movie which made over $500 million worldwide. Over the past few months then we haven’t heard anything else on the matter, however today during a press briefing at Walt Disney Co.’s Burbank headquarters Disney Studios Chairman Rich Ross revealed that a sequel is in the works, and they are aiming for a November 16th 2012 release date for Monsters Inc. 2.
They also announced that Brave (formerly known as Bear and the Bow) will be released on June 15th 2012. The animation is the company’s first-ever female-driven feature and stars the voice of Reese Witherspoon as an impulsive princess who aims to shed her royal ties and become the world’s first, great female archer. The film will also feature the voice talents of an array of British actors such as Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson and Julie Walters.
