Michael Fassbender is gearing up to climb a mountain for 20th Century Fox. Variety reports that the star of Shame, X-Men: First Class, and Prometheus is in talks to join a movie called The Mountain Between Us, a romantic drama about two plane crash survivors. Read on for more.
The film “follows two strangers who survive a plane crash in the Colorado woods and are forced to rely on one another for survival, eventually falling in love.” Fassbender would play a doctor and skilled climber who has to aid a wounded female writer down a mountain. The movie will draw obvious comparisons to Liam Neeson’s The Grey, another survival film that came out earlier this year. Miss Bala director Gerardo Naranjo will be sitting in the director’s chair on this one, so it’ll be interesting to see how he handles a studio film with a bigger budget. What do you think?
