Michael Bay wants to go “sideways” with Transformers 3

bumblebee transformers 2 If you get the right combination of vehicles on the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray extra feature “The AllSpark Experiment” then director Michael Bay will appear on-screen and talk about Transformers 3. It’s quite marvellous. Someone has YouTubed the two minute clip which you can watch here.

In the clip Bay talks about where he wants to go with the next film. It must have been filmed a while ago as he mentions that “Paramount are really pressuring me to make Transformers 3 right away”, but we know he’s already started working on it, so it seems the pressuring worked!

Bay mentions some rather surprising but encouraging things. He says T3 can’t get any bigger, so it’ll have to go “sideways” in terms overall scope and action. He says it will develop the relationship between Bumblebee and Sam further, explore more of the robot characters, and it could go darker. Bay also says it has to be more “emotional” which, if Revenge of the Fallen is anything to go by, means we’ll have more slo-mo shots of Megan Fox looking unhappy.

I’m liking the way Bay is thinking, which I never expected myself to say. Whether he will actually deliver though, is something we’ll have to wait for. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was big but it certainly wasn’t clever. They need an actual story for the next film, instead of ‘evil robot wants to blow up the sun’.

Where do you think Transformers 3 should go? Should it be darker? Less explosions? More focus on the robots?

I'd appreciate more Robots. The half hour commercial for the American military at the end of Transformers 2 while the autobots basically did nothing was really annoying.

I don't want more robots - I want to really get to know the ones that are already there. Do more character exploration, and certainly give us more plot! (Hint: Take a lesson from the Transformers Animated series - it had the best plot line of any of the cartoons.)

MAN i cant wait for t3!! t1 andt2 are i my opinion vastly being recognized as a modern greats, I think that Bay and Speilberg took transforers to another level it reached new limits to a wider audience, whatever they feel is right im certain its going to be a big hit.
i wonder about how he would go if he was to include unicron and the sweeps. a little bit of original storylines from the cartoons would hurt anyone. CANT WAIT!!

There aleady was a "T3" movie, its called "TERMINATOR ," not GMformers. BOTH of these movies SUCKED! I'm not comparing them to the old cartoons or comics, they were just bad and had too many problems with the storyline.

I think you should keep the action going in T3. Make it the ultimate showdown and don't hold anything back when you make this movie. T2 was the stuff but I have a feeling that you can go further than T2. I really hope Michael, wherever he may go o film this movie, will take the action with em.

  • AL- AVATAR for Life
I want Bay to watch the movie AVATAR, and then hand the Transformer 3 project over to James Cameron, because nobody is better in the sci-fi business right now than him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Introduction...

I believe Michael Bay is truly being very Sincere & Genuine when it comes to ideas for a 2nd sequel to the Transformers Franchise! I believe his heart is everywhere with this franchise and could very well be in the right place, when it comes to the future of THIS franchise.

    FOR ALL FANS!

Whether its was the ACTION (sometimes too fast & choppy) DIALOGUE (not so clever or edgy), PLOT (not original or traditional), or the CHARACTERS/ACTORS (having talent or not) we can all agree that things seemed to deteriorate from movie to movie, therefore...

It all comes down to basics.

Since it is TOO EARLY for the movie franchise to post a Sequel Trailer of any kind or an Info-Trailer on various TRAILER websites, in keeping those of us UPDATED as to the future of Transformers...

How will the Tranformers CONTINUE to live on Earth without an energy source to live off of? (Energon Cubes?) Backstory: In TF Part 2 we learned that JetFire, after becoming very old, hence, he couldn't be or have continued to be the powerful robot he once was relative to those younger Autobots/Decepticons created after him, without some type of energy source. Other than using Unicron (Planet Destroyer) and other robots (Dinobots, etc) as the backstory (or even in the story)... it will be pretty difficult for Bay & Spielberg to come up with something Historic & Original.

Many of you believe, stories related to the Comics and Cartoons may seem TOO OLD, while others may believe the stories that are ORIGINAL and NEW may NOT seem TRADITIONAL. Either way, they can't make everyone happy at once. It will take several creative ideas to come together that will touch all generations.

RELEASED on tformers.net, is a script (suggestingly written by Ehren Kruger) who has been given the nod to write (by Paramount Pictures) the sequel to TF:ROTF.

I HAVE READ THIS SCRIPT! AND SO CAN YOU!

This script takes a tremendous & surprising turn!

I will NOT spoil the surprise, but it is a MUST READ!

Whether if it IS or ISN'T written by THE Ehren Kruger, it is a GOOD script, not TOO MUCH, not TOO LITTLE, and is very different from what, I think, anyone has imagined.

I seriously suggest that you, AS A FAN, take a gander at this script, you will be surprised.
