Last week a report hit the net suggesting that British actor Luke Evans (Immortals) had been offered the villain role in Fast Six. Now Variety has word that Evans is in final negotiations for the role having sorted out scheduling issues with The Hobbit (Evans plays Bard the Bowman).
We knew Fast Six would be heading to Europe to shoot later this year and the film would be set there, but now Variety has provided a few more details on the storyline:
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources say it would involve the crew heading overseas to work on a heist job. Evans would play the leader of another crew trying to pull off the same job.
Evans joins a cast that already includes Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, and Dwayne Johnson. Gina Carano (Haywire) is also expected to be part of the film as a member of Dwayne Johnson’s Security Service team. Justin Lin is returning to direct, and Fast Five screenwriter Chris Morgan wrote the script. Universal has set a release date for May 24, 2013.
Can’t say any more right now. But I’m V excited!
