What you see below doesn’t really make sense, but if X-Men Origins: Wolverine flops it won’t be because Hugh Jackman didn’t promote it hard enough.

I chose Bale because he was the only lead actor in a superhero movie I could think of at the time. I could have chosen Robert Downey Jr but I could see him doing it.

The guy is full of himself, this is clear by how he NEVER appears in any of the conventions while all of the other stars and the director shows up every time to promote Terminator, how he verbally assaults his mother to the point where police had to be called, and how he verbally assaults someone for doing something accidentally. No matter how dumb that guy's action was, it didn't warrant a 10 minute verbal assault.

Nope, what I forgot to also add is that not only does he not show up to the conventions but we don't get any recorded messages, no speakerphone conversations, no nothing. You know when you watch an award show and the winner is busy somewhere, he'll have a video to play so people know he isn't just somewhere not caring about the award? Yah, never one of those and that would take, what, 10 seconds to record? Oh yah, I'm sure he doesn't have 10 seconds to spare.
Oh, and it was ONLY 4 minutes??? WOW, man, do yourself a huge favor, get out a stop watch and and do jumping jacks for 4 minutes, hold your breath for 4 minutes, cross your eyes for 4 minutes, heck, just sit there and watch the stop watch for 4 minutes.
You don't have to be there. Plenty of people have pissed me off, I've never ranted at them for 4 minutes, I've never had the police called on me due to my verbal assault. Oh, and he said sorry? I watched all the award shows this year and except for the Oscars, which was only attended by the director, the crew and Ledgers family, he was at every single one in support of the movie, his director and his fellow cast/crew members whether he was nominated for an award or not.
And at everyone of those awards shows I didn't see Michael Caine or Morgan Freeman in the audience who were also in the Dark Knight and Batman Begins, dose that make them jerks for not showing up for the fans. No it just means they had other things they had to do. OMG string them up for having a life outside of their freaking jobs which is to make movies, not parade around on stage and kiss the butts of every ticket buyer in the world.
Why do we have to have every actor trotted out into the public for our amusement. What else can they say about movie that they haven't already said to 50 other talk shows and magazine reporters. I don't want hear the same crap over and over again. It gets boring.
As for his rant yes it was extreme, I'm not saying it didn't go over board but it happened last year. No one was fired, no one quite and according to the director and several of his crew and cast mates that where there that day, after he calmed down he apologized to all those effected and they finished to shot. We never would have heard anything about this had not some low life scum sold the audio.
Yes he has a reputation to maintain, so does everyone when emotion are high and things get said and done that shouldn't have, duh. You would to if you went off a co-worker or family member whether in small scale or big. You don't want people thinking that's the only side to you. Why should he? I'm not talking about award shows, I was using that as an EXAMPLE of the RECORDED messages winners sometimes prepare if they are too BUSY to be there in person like you are claiming Bale to be for theise CONVENTIONS. 2nd yes I enjoy Bales work and no he CAN do wrong. He proved he was very much human and capable of making a horrible choice in behavior and now he's paying the price. But, unlike some celebs he's not going on every talk show trying to kiss ass and explain himself. Yes I understand the reputation saving thing. I understand that after hearing all this for week he came forward to a local California radio station, not a national talk show, a local station that he himself listens to and apologized. Laugh all you want I'm very glad you find yourself so funny and I'm glad that my comments could somehow brighten your day. I still think the underlying rudeness and your contuined attempts at trying to sound superior just shows how little regard you have for others. You claim he's full of him self and yet time and time again he has shown he is anything but. On many of his movies he has asked to be put up in the same hotel as the crew not seperated in better accomodations. If you don't belive do a little research. He has also had serveral industry people come forward and make staements as to what a stand up guy he isand how out of character this whole mess was. On many of his movies he has asked to be put up in the same hotel as the crew not seperated in better accomodations. If you don't belive do a little research. He has also had serveral industry people come forward and make staements as to what a stand up guy he isand how out of character this whole mess was. But you have your opinion and thats clearly the only one you can see. I guess I'm a little bit more open minded and don't just base my opinions on gut reaction. I try to use this in my everyday life and maybe some day you will too.

OR you are so blinded by your fanboy (not gender specific, just a general term, don't fret) love for Christian Bale that you will let him fool you with the outward gestures that are more-or-less planned most likely with his public image in mind, while ignoring things that show how people really are inside.
For me actions speak louder than words. He can say all he wants that he thinks he's no better or that he's equal, blah blah blah. Anyone can SAY anything. The fact is, your ACTIONS show more about how you really are than your words. And his actions against his own family and against a coworker says 10 times as much as his apparent desire to be in the same hotel or whatever…

Because if actual violence had transpired between them I'm thinking he wouldn't have been allowed to wait an entire day to come into police custody to give his accounts of the verbal argument no matter how much BS he might be able ti sling. Action don't always speak volumes about a person there are many people in today's society that put on an outward appearance of charity and kindness and are really anything but. I mean what is the biggest statement that neighbors and friends give to police when someone they know chops up their loved ones. He/she was so nice such a quiet person, there was nothing in their manners or action that made us think they were capable of this. Plus, Wolverine comes out on May 1st and Terminator on July, so there is no competition between these movies, idiot. He's a good actor, and I'll watch his films, but I'm paying to watch his on-screen performance, not for his off-screen idiocy, so my opinion of his off-screen personality hasn't changed, but I'm objective enough to see a good actor when I see him. I'm the biggest James Cameron fanatic, I love just about all of his movies, but that guy is a prick to work with and even he has come forward and admitted it, lol. But still looking forward to Avatar, woot. Hollywood breeds these cocky self-loving pricks, it's just a byproduct. I was going to wait and watch it as a rental anyhow, so I don't need to illegally download an unfinished version of the film. Not every actor got into this business to be in public eye and have their personal lives on display for all to see. That's just a nasty side effect that they have to live with. Jackman handles the press wonderfully, Bale doesn't he has always said so. Why is trying to have a life outside your job such a bad thing? Edward Norton hates the press and keeps a very low profile. Granted he was at one of the comicon convention but he he also wasn't in the middle of promoting another movie at the time the convention was going on. Along with Jackman, (who also did not have another movie to promote at the time) Bale is one of the hardest working actors out there right now. And sometimes you just can't do everything everyone wants you to, you have to pick and choose. If McG had wanted Bale to record a message to the fans I'm sure he would have, he has in the past for other things (award shows, online interviews over seas talk shows). Once the rest of the conventions came around the audio of his rant had gone out and he was just keeping a low profile so he wouldn't have to rehash it over and over again. Once he starts going out to promote Terminator in a few weeks he'll have to do just that. Because every talk show host, every reporter is going to make that their 1st question. They already have, he just did an interview with Empire magazine this month and that's the 1st thing they asked him. He's there to promote the movie not himself as an actor in the movie, the movie as a whole. And he won't need to do silly stuff to get it noticed. That I find refreshing.

Bruce Willis comes to mind, I remember when he was promoting Live Free or Die Hard, he actually signed on to Ain't it Cool News and was chatting with people about what they want to see and what they were expecting etc. Nobody believed it was him until he uploaded a video of himself saying hello to them, lol.

In another film with deception and play both sides, Christian Bale was amazing in The Prestige. You never know until the end of this film, it is a good guy that I can not even imagine how difficult it is to do. He stole the show at Hugh Jackman.
