Kate Beckinsale Done With Underworld

underworld evolution The trailer for Underworld: Rise of the Lycans appeared online last week, and Underworld fans may have noticed that Kate Beckinsale was no where in sight (although her lookalike Rhona Mitra was). Well ComingSoon.net recently spoke to Beckinsale, and asked her what her current Underworld status was/is.

After talking about her husband, director Len Wiseman’s involvement as the co-writer and producer with that movie, we asked whether she would have interest in returning as Selene for another movie continuing her story. She did think they might continue the series beyond the upcoming prequel, but she wasn’t sure if she’d continue doing them.
“I think they’re still going, they probably will. I’m not sure I will,” she told us. “I feel like I’ve played that character enough times that I don’t think I’d be excited to play the same character again. It’s a weird experience. I’ve never done that before, you’re playing the same character in two movies, and after two, I feel like I’m kind of done with that.”

After Underworld: Evolution and Click, Beckinsale has been going down the drama route, so a return to the vampire franchise may not be in her best interests. However, I think she should stop being selfish and get back in the leather suit!

I know geek-guys get pretty attached to their scantily clad heroines. But I’m pretty sure a different raven haired beauty will do just fine in the series. I’m more interested in seeing if Kate can really expand her range and have me believing her in a different role.

Wow, to consider Underworld without KB… that’s just awful. I appreciate the fact that she wants to expand her realm, but this is something her fans will appreciate! A willingness to take on the same character and make it amazingly believable is a challenge in itself. I hate it when an actor gives up on something (in a circumstance like this), it’s so disappointing. My hope is that she will reconsider, if not, again, a disappointment. Part of the reason I became her fan was because of her performance in Underworld.

If im not mistaken the part in the underworld 3 rise of the lycans that the beautiful and talented Rhona Mitra is playing, is the role of Sonja, Viktor’s daughter that falls for Lucien the lycan lord..and is then torched by her father Viktor when he finds out she caries the offspring of lucien…[ how did Viktor put it?..oh yeah .the abomination that grows in her womb!!!] he then chained his dauther to a stond column and had Lucien watch as she was burned alive!!! So im leavin hope her that our Beloved Selene!!! can still in the future be played by the one and only, Kate Beckinsale!!! we love you Kate dont give up on Selene!!!
at least dont rule her out completely…you have so much to accomplish with your career…do what you need to, and then come back…you are the only true Selene!!1

the fact is i loved kate in underworld, 1 shes hott, 2 she played it great and i dont think we will ever find another selene like her, shes like stallone as rambo or rocky, there is no better…i pray that beckinsale will reconcider and be apart of future underworlds because if rhona doent do a great job at this new underworld idk if ill see more cause i love rhona mitra but in alota ways shes like keanu reeves and gos in badass and has no emotion in her acting, anyways i hope we all enjoy this new underworld movie
