To mark its 20th anniversary Universal Pictures has set a July 19, 2013 release date for Jurassic Park 3D. Steven Spielberg’s original dinosaur movie made $915 million worldwide back in 1993, and a 3D re-release will likely push it over the $1 billion mark (making it the first Spielberg film to do so).
In related release date news Universal has pushed Tom Cruise‘s Oblivion from July 10th, 2013 to April 26th. The film, directed by Tron: Legacy‘s Joseph Kosinski, follows a “surface drone repairman who discovers a mysterious woman (Olga Kurylenko) in a crash-landed pod, setting off an unstoppable chain of events that will force him to question everything he knows.”
