The Los Angeles Times spoke to Iron Man director Jon Favreau, who revealed that despite no official announcement, he is busy working on Iron Man 2.
I just talked to Jon Favreau a bit ago, and he said that while there hasn’t been an formal announcement on the sequel to “Iron Man,” he’s begun developing it. “We’re working on it now,” he said, “which hasn’t been officially announced. It will be released in 2010.”
Tropic Thunder writer Justin Theroux is currently writing the script and they are aiming for an early 2009 start date, so that it will be ready for April 30th 2010.
Marvel’s Thor is also expected to be released in the summer of 2010, two months after the Iron Man sequel, so we could be hearing things about that shortly. They already have a script written, so they just need a director, cast, crew and everything else required to make a film.
