According to Bleeding Cool, John C. Reilly has been spotted around the set of Anchorman: The Legend Continues which is in early photography down in Atlanta Georgia. Reilly will reportedly have a smaller part or a cameo in the film. Even if the role is a bit part it will be cool to see the trio of; Will Ferrell, Reilly and writer/director Adam McKay reunited once again, who have all previously collaborated on Talladega Nights and Step Brothers.
They also stumbled on this casting call that would seem to stongly point to Reilly’s involvement in the film:
Do you look like John C. Reilly? We’re seeking a caucasian male, 6’2?, any age. THIS SHOOTS TOMORROW, FEB 28th. Please submit your stats and 3 photos to TeachMan2ATL@gmail.com with the subject line JOHNNY DOUBLE.
The first film boasted one of the funniest casts ever assembled and the sequel has already added one of the funniest women in the world, Kristen Wiig. With Reilly’s addition the film looks even more promising. A couple of more traditionally serious actors, James Marsden and Terrance Stamp are in negotiations to join as well. They potentially could be great for the more zany actor to play off of, after all one of the best parts of the forgettable Yes Man was Stamp’s overly serious character.
The new guys will join; Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, David Koechner and Steve Carrel, who will all be back.
