According to the official fan page for The Hunger Games, Jeffrey Wright has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire as Beetee, District 3’s former male victor. Wright, an accomplished actor with both a Golden Globe and an Emmy, is perhaps best known to movie audiences as Felix Leiter, James Bond’s CIA ally in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
This marks the last major role to be cast in Catching Fire as many of the still uncast roles listed on the Facebook page are bit players or extras and many will likely be filled by stunt men and women. However Lionsgate still may have some tricks up their sleeves. On the Facebook page pictures of the cast members are framed by the name of the character they are portraying, with uncast roles appearing as either a male of female silhouette. However, at the bottom of the page there is a female silhouette without a character name.
Lionsgate haven’t given any clues as to who this mystery character might be, but fan speculation is rampant. The two most likely characters are Bonnie and Annie. Bonnie is one of a pair of characters on the run that Katniss encounters in the wild, the other Twill would likely be dropped from the movie like Madge was in the first film. The other likely candidate is Annie Cresta who is the love interest of Finnick Odair, however her character hardly appears until the last book, Mockingjay.
