Jack White Unhappy With Solace Coke Ad

We saw the Coca-Cola Quantum of Solace tie-in ad a day or two ago. I enjoyed it. However, one person who didn’t was Jack White, who composed the new Bond theme tune which was used in the ad.

From NME

White’s management have issued a statement distancing The White Stripes and Raconteurs man from the advert, claiming that it was not his decision to license the song for use in the promo.

“Jack White was commissioned by Sony Pictures to write a theme song for the James Bond film ‘Quantum Of Solace’, not for Coca Cola,” read the statement. “Any other use of the song is based on decisions made by others, not by Jack White.

“We are disappointed that you first heard the song in a co-promotion for Coke Zero, rather than in its entirety.”

Damn you Coca Cola! I would also like expand my ‘damn you’ to whoever in the Bond camp decided to use the theme tune. Think of the composers feelings before you start pleasing your sponsors!
