Back in May a teaser trailer was released for Super 8, a secret project from Star Trek director J.J Abrams and Steven Spielberg. The fun thing was that Abrams hadn’t even started shooting the movie yet, but he filmed a whole teaser which featured a ‘creature’ breaking its way out of a train carriage.
Now J.J Abrams, with Spielberg producing, is gearing up for filming and has got a cast together.
From Risky Business:
Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning are taking the leads in J.J. Abrams’ mysterious new film “Super 8,” which began shooting in West Virginia on Monday, Paramount announced.
Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Gabriel Basso, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee and Zach Mills round out the main cast. Abrams wrote the screenplay, about which very little is known, and he is producing along with his Bad Robot partner Bryan Burk and Steven Spielberg.
The only thing we know about Super 8 is that it will ““deal with everyday people whose personal relationships are tested when they are thrown up against extraordinarily fantastic — and possibly other-worldly — events.”
