Iron Man 3 to be released by Disney in 2013

Iron Man 3 2012 ImageLast year Disney bought Marvel for $4 billion and the studio intended to take control of the big properties once Paramount’s deal with Marvel was up. Paramount released Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and will distribute Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger next year.

Paramount were also expected to release The Avengers in 2012, however Disney has just purchased the distribution rights for $115 million and will therefore release both The Avengers and Iron Man 3, as well as all future movies.

According to Box Office Mojo Marvel/Disney has set a May 3rd 2013 release date for Iron Man 3, which means Robert Downey Jr. will be suiting up sometime in 2012. No word on whether director Jon Favreau will return, but it’s a likely possibility given the success of the previous films.

IM and IM2 were only released two years apart, but as we have The Avengers on the way we will have to wait until 2013 for the next Iron Man solo outing.

    Fuck Disney!

Great…now Marvel films are gonna be even more light-hearted and soft in comparison to DC’s winning formula of dark plots. Avengers will now suck…

Disney said they won’t change anything. Marvel will still be in control.

Dc´s winning formula? Excuse me…..but what winning formula? The fact of Heath Ledger´s death make them to have ONE hit movie, but outside of that, i don´t see anything from Dc on the map! their movies sucks, while Marvel is making hot after hit, and now Dc says that they will not copy Marvel´s formula, just because they can´t! Dc is over!

what u talking about 1 hit Batman Begins is a hit and TDK. for Marvel Hulk failed and Iron Man 1 was good but Iron Man 2 was a major f**k up compare to the first movie. Marvel have all their major characters all at different studios they dont have any control of them.

While marvel puts out more than DC and their movies tend to be popular, I also prefer the darker DC characters.
Batman Begins got a couple award nominations. I’m not sure how well they did in the box office or anything, but in addition to the Batman movies. I really enjoyed V for Vendetta and Stardust, which are associated with DC. And I haven’t seen it yet, but Red doesn’t look like it entirely sucked or anything.
