Hulk Director Louis Leterrier For Superman?

supermanLast week Wanted writer Mark Millar said “I’ve got my director and producer set up, and it’ll be 2011″, regarding a Superman revamp. Some thought he could just be saying that to get Warner Bros attention, however now The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier has revealed in an interview that he has been asked about it.

Leterrier is doing right now a Q&A with fans.

When one asks if he would say “YES” or “NO” to several movies, it just got interesting:
“the new SUPERMAN ?”

Louis answered something like this :
“Funny that you mentioned Superman… because, hum, maybe they asked me….”

Leterrier successful revamped the Hulk franchise (in some peoples eyes) so could he do the same again with Superman? If Warner Bros are asking other directors about the next film then it appears Superman Returns director Bryan Singer could be out of the picture. Leterrier is currently getting ready to direct the Greek epic Clash of the Titans for Warner Bros, which makes discussions more likely.

Being a SUPERMAN fan is all about INVESTING your heart and dreams into an immortal character. But does that mean you're somehow entitled to unconditional PAYBACK?

Generations ago, I invested heavily in George Reeves and SUPERBOY comics. Should I forever rail at fate because SUPERMAN moved on?

To go ever forward must be SUPERMAN's way. To suddenly stall to pander to the current fanbase is NOT the SUPERMAN I've known and loved all my life.

The notion that the greatest hero in all of literature must conform to the latest incarnations of a flawed movie or TV show betrays a lack of confidence in The Man of Steel himself.

SUPERMAN fans, young and old, harbor infinitely higher hopes.
