Hugh Jackman says Wolverine 2 will be “sexiest X-Men film yet” and a 2012 release is likely

wolverinestill Earlier this week Hugh Jackman said that they were just starting to develop the story for Wolverine 2, and confirmed that they were heading to Japan. In the post I had a mini-rant about Wolverine’s love interests. In short, I think that we’ve seen enough of Wolverine in love (Jean Grey in X-Men 3, Silver Fox in X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and I just want to see him be his badass self without getting revenge over a lost love or crying because he has to stab one of them. He needs to be single. However, these latest quotes from Jackman suggest that not only will Wolverine have a love interest, he will have multiple:

“Parts of that story were pretty dark. I don’t know if it’s the darkest, but I’m going to go out on a limb right now and say I think it will be the sexiest,” Jackman told MTV News. “There’s some female companionship—and not just one—for Wolverine. … My wife might have an issue with it, but I think the fans will like it.”

Of course, with all this talk of what the “Wolverine” sequel will entail, there’s still the question of when we’re likely to see it hit theaters. While Jackman couldn’t offer any firm details, he did hint at a potential release in 2012.

“If you look at the history [of the X-Men movies], it’s been every three years—three years exactly,” he teased. “So that might give you a good hint.”

There’s nothing wrong with a “sexy” X-Men film, I mean we’ve already seen Halle Berry, Anna Paquin and Famke Janssen running around in leather suits. I’d be fine with subtle sexiness like that, however if it turns into MTV/Michael Bay/Brett Ratner/music video type-sexy then I’ll berserker rage on their faces.

I wonder if they really know where to go with this film. Fighting ninja's one minute, an multiple partnered sex maniac the next…I don't really see this being any better than the first Wolverine film, and that wasn't very good.

I liked the first movie very much. I am looking forward to see this. It won´t be sooner than in three years anyway so I hope Hugh will make at least three movies (and he could finally win that Oscar for himself!)

It's supposed to be closely based on the Japan saga series of comics. As for sex…well Wolverine is supposed to be an animalistic guy and animals do have sex! Male animals are always sniffing around females to see if there's the possibility of a little something! He's certainly had his share of love interests in the comics too so it makes sense to put it all in the movies to appeal to everyone.

For some open sexual and violent scenes is important R-rating. I am not sure if Fox will allow this. Unless they´ll change the bos of the studio…It is possible to do it with PG-13 rating but it wants skillfull writer and director. I am curious and want to see it and I liked Wolverine movie but it would be great to have some director who has experience with this.

Sexy is always good where Hugh Jackman is concerned. he plays that role very very well. Making for a WONDERFUL LOGAN BUUUTTTTT not a wonderful Wolverine, sadly. Wolverine was NEVER created to BE SEXY and it wasn't until YEARS later that female fans started to find him sexy even before Hugh Jackman came along. Wolverine was ment to be the hero that could and most of all WOULD do WHATEVER it takes to get the DIRT out of our way. He is a killer no some nice girl toy who loves wemon into a world of bliss. Marvel has stated many times he is a good lover but they NEVER made that a main point in any of his stories, even the love stories. So my point is WHY is this such a point on the big screen and NOT Wolverine's fighting skills and killer instinc. Only one answer comes to mind here. Hugh Jackman is a better romantic actor than he is an action actor. bottom line. You work with what you have, the boy HAS IT in that area BUT frankly… I want to see MORE Wolverine action the way he is in the comics. I think Hugh Jackman could do much better to get to this IF the damn screen writer would READ A DAMN COMIC every now and then,
